
Mobile App - Smart Irrigation System Using IOT
Tujuan :
Produk yang menggunakan teknologi Internet of Things (IoT) bagi membantu menambahbaik kaedah pertanian di Malaysia. Produk ini turut membantu mengurangkan pergantungan kepada tenaga buruh. Kaedah yang digunakan adalah dengan cara mengawal kekerapan penggunaan air untuk menyiram tanaman dan membuat ramalan bagi pembajaan tanah dengan tepat. Produk ini menggunakan maklumat statistik yang diperolehi daripada pihak ketiga untuk mentransformasikan sektor pertanian secara digital dengan kos yang rendah.
Penyataan Masalah :
Excessive irrigation for plants are always happening in Malaysia,the most common case that always happens is the irrigation system irrigates the plants even it is raining heavily. The reasons why excessive irrigation always happens:
- The irrigation system is not smart enough,the system has been automated and just carries out its job in a timely manner
- Farmer’s prediction of watering and fertilising the plant is in accurateas different plants has different rate of nutrient absorption and the weather keep changing differently in Malaysia. Therefore, excessive irrigation will increase the business cost, doing such actions will also increase the environmental pollutions in a region (Titiksha, 2018).
Penyelesaian Yang Dibangunkan :
The system has two parts : Mobile App will be developed using Android Studio and Hardware system will be developed using Arduino IDE (Cprogramming). The sensors will be connected to a microcontroller called NodeMCU ESP32 which is Arduino-based. The list of sensors are :-Soil Fertility Sensor (Fertility & pH) – Soil Moisture Sensor – Soil Temperature Sensor –Air Quality Sensor Air Temperature Sensor The microcontroller will beconnected to WiFi network as collected data(soil nutritional values) will be transferred via this communication link to the server.TheAndroidAppandthemicrocontrollerwill be connected to the server where data can be transferred and flown between 2 platforms.
