List of Fellows of Academy of Sciences Malaysia

The Fellows of the Academy are elected from among eminent Malaysian scientists, engineers and technologists in the fields of medical, engineering, biological, mathematics, physical and earth sciences, chemical, information technology, science & technology development and industry as well as social sciences and humanities. To date, the Academy has 324 Fellows and 6 Honorary Fellows. Out of the 324 Fellows, 33 are Foundation Fellows and 291 are ordinary Fellows. Fellows are entitled to be distinguished by the title “Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia” and to use the designatory letters “FASc” after their names.

From amongst the Fellows, Senior Fellows are appointed by the ASM Council based on recommendation by a Special Panel appointed by the Honorable Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation. Appointment as Senior Fellows is a recognition given to Fellows who have made outstanding contributions to science, engineering and technology, nationally and internationally. The Senior Fellows will be addressed as “Academician”. To date, the Academy has 28 Senior Fellows.
